I also noticed that bibtex cannot escape the &#039;at sign&#039; - but I found one particular syntax, with which you can include @ in comments without bibtex crashing, which is: 
&lt;pre&gt;
@@{t=t}
&lt;/pre&gt;

... which is simply a cheat - where the second @ is added so it means &#039;command&#039; to bibtex; and any two characters can be used for the &#039;t=t&#039;, as that simply makes bibtex acknowledge the entry syntax..

Then you can write:
&lt;pre&gt;
@Comment {remove the corresponding \@@{t=t} from a command}
&lt;/pre&gt;

... however, arguably, it&#039;s not the most user friendly thing in the world :)
